We stopped for the first time yesterday. The Probstei is bright inside from large windows and light colors. It's clean and the bartender was friendly and welcoming. There is a pool table, two large TV's over the bar, and a Touch Tunes jukebox. The bar seats about 15, and there is table seating for about 25 ( including some in a small room to the rear). There are a couple picnic tables out front. The menu has a nice mix of sandwiches, including fresh (not frozen) burgers, grilled chicken, tenderloins ( grilled and deep fried), BLT, chicken tenders, fish sandwich, and more. They also serve chicken wings, the usual fries and onion rings, and they have home made pasta salads and Cole slaw. Prices are in the 6.00 to 8.00 range, and include fries/onion rings or two of the homemade sides. I had the the jalepeno burger; a 1/3 lb burger (add a second meat patty for 2.50), topped with pepper-jack cheese, deep fried jalapenos, and a mildly spicy mayonnaise based sauce. It was a tasty sandwich, and my side of onion rings was large. My wife had the Portabella mushroom and Swiss cheese burger along with two pasta sides. One of her pasta sides was a buffalo-chicken, and it had a nice heat/spice. The burgers are 1/3 lb, and end up a little thin after cooking, but they make a tasty sandwich. We thought our meals were well worth the reasonable price, the atmosphere nice, and the cook and bartender were friendly. We will definitely return.

107.7 Vintage Radios Mama C was there at the Probstei Inn so me and a group of friends stopped to see Mama C and listen to a band playing. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The bartenders were all super cool and really friendly. Meet MO, she's the manager and a very nice gal. Had a cheeseburger and fries and it was really yummy. Definitely would recommend to anyone who likes to have fun in a relaxed environment.

Been here a few times. Good Service, nice people, good vibes. Just wish they had their grill open, its always hit or miss or they are only serving a few things on their menu. Otherwise I would recommend stoppin here for a beer or 2.

The food was great the music was great and the people were good too fast friendly service. The chili was so great I think they have my mama's chili recipe. The ribeye steak sandwich basket was even better.

My brother and I always make a halfway stop here for food and a few drinks while we are traveling to see family. The burgers are amazing and it feels like home to us. Highly recommend for a little hole-in-the-wall! We forgot to buy t-shirts (again), but definitely next time!

Opening under new ownership in 2025 with renovations and additions. Can't wait to see what they've done. Quaint little pitstop.

Every now and then I have friends I'll visit in West Davenport. After work one day I was planning to meet with a few of them but unfortunately our plans fell through on my way driving to the place we were meeting. Since I was already nearly in the area, I decided to impulsively stop at Probstei. It had been recommended on the Quad Cities Subreddit, so I was eager to try them anyways. This place is decidedly not the normal sort of venue I frequent. There's a large sign of sorts on the building exterior proclaiming "welcome bikers". To clarify, I am not a biker, nor does my general appearance reflect any sort of associated stereotype for someone who chooses to ride a motorcycle. The interior is fairly small. There's a bar that runs the length of most of the space, a single pool table, and a few other tables. The floor is a combination of wood laminate and pretty old looking carpet, while the overhead consists of primarily plain drop ceiling. Lighting is low - a combination of a few accent strips and the various neon beer signs in the interior. It's quiet and easy on the eyes - I liked it. I opted for the patty melt on the menu with a side of fries. Both were alright. The only thing I was a little bummed about was the bread - it was advertised as rye, but ended up being white bread. Still, it was greasy and delicious. Of further note is the eclectic patio area around the side of the building. There's a variety of seating, including a few picnic tables, individual chairs, and even benches of the size children would likely use. It looks like a nice place to hang out during the warmer months. This is well away from home for me, so I probably won't be back. If you're in the area and need a quiet place to crash and enjoy a greasy bar meal, this might be for you. Thanks, Probstei.
